Do you think the S2K can out accelerate a Civic w/o VTECing?

Just because it behaves like Civic below 6000RPM. Doesn't meant it is as slow as it!

Here is what MT (Motor Trend) wrote up about launching the S2K in their Feb. 2000 issue.
Their time for 0-60 is 5.2! Here's how they got it...

"Here's the drill: Push the clutch to the floor, bring the revs up to a hair's breadth below where the rev limiter kicks in (like 8500), then side-step the clutch and floor the throttle. If you grab each gear a nano-second before the rev limiter hits, you'll be in the realm of our times."

They also stated/performed launches without going to VTEC.
Here's what they wrote...

"We also tested 0-60mph acceleration by launching and shifting at 5500 rpm (as might be typical in semi-aggressive daily driving) although going to wide-open-throttle in between. The 0-60 mph times increased to more than 11 seconds."

I'm just repeating what they wrote...
My .02 cents.

You guys are smoking some crack and reading too much BS specs. I smoked a civic EX HB today and i was nice to him by only shifting at 6000 RPM.
