Do you think the S2K can out accelerate a Civic w/o VTECing?
Here is what MT (Motor Trend) wrote up about launching the S2K in their Feb. 2000 issue.
Their time for 0-60 is 5.2! Here's how they got it...
"Here's the drill: Push the clutch to the floor, bring the revs up to a hair's breadth below where the rev limiter kicks in (like 8500), then side-step the clutch and floor the throttle. If you grab each gear a nano-second before the rev limiter hits, you'll be in the realm of our times."
They also stated/performed launches without going to VTEC.
Here's what they wrote...
"We also tested 0-60mph acceleration by launching and shifting at 5500 rpm (as might be typical in semi-aggressive daily driving) although going to wide-open-throttle in between. The 0-60 mph times increased to more than 11 seconds."
I'm just repeating what they wrote...
