Do you use a shift light/alarm
I extended the beeper wires and ran them through the console by the radio head unit. I have two velcro landing pads for the beeper. On the street I stick it behind the dash just to the right of the steering wheel. It it completely invisible and out of the way.
Then on the track I rip it off that velcro and extend it out to another bit of velcro stuck on the flat spot just underneath the HVAC controls. This makes it much easier to hear at full throttle.

If you push the tabs from behind while pulling straight out, the come out just fine.
The beeper is so loud, that it could be in the trunk and I would hear it just fine. Extending the wires is not really necessary.
