i wait untill the rpm tach reads zero , after the 9000rpm thing then i push
the strange thing is , i dont push the clutch in when starting the car....cause mine come from europe

it must be the fuel pump. the air pump doesn't come on until the engine is started.

Yes, to both. It just feels odd to me to be starting the engine while the instruments are still flashing.

I always wait. It couldn't hurt, and I always find my self staring at the instruments and listening for the beeps.

When you turn the key to the run position, the fuel pump runs for 2 seconds (controlled by the main relay under the dash)... The dash self-test seems to have been engineered to be timed right along with the fuel pump's 2-second operation. It's always a good idea to turn the key to the run position and wait the 2 seconds until the check engine light has gone out. That's when you should start the car. I don't necessarily watch that the tach has gone to 0, but I do wait until the CEL has gone out.
