I just noticed an area on the passenger side door where the seatbelt is rubbing down the plastic interior.

Yeah, I get it too, there was a suggestion on another thread to put another of the seatbelt stopper-thingys further up the belt, so it holds the buckle much higher. They suggested getting one from a scrap yard and using a knife to prise apart both sides, make a hole in your own belt and clip the stopper back together.

So far I have just been plugging it into the clip, even when no-one is sitting there, not ideal, but it works

A common problem. I slide my passenger side buckle up the sash a bit so it sits higher and more tightly against the bolster. Stops the rattling aginst the door.

What Muz said. Passengers often leave belt dangling mid-door. If they do, I soon notice it rattling against the door and pull it to the top.

Maybe StonGard on the side pillar would help.

My solution is to simply buckle the seat belt, thereby eliminating the rub factor altogether.
