i never said auto dim. i said auto off. i want it because if ur walking towards your car in the dark, it will light ur way and when u leave the car, u dont have to turn the knob and besides all that, i think it looks really cool on my acura that does it. call me lazy or stupid, but it seems to be smarter than bmw bs like lights that shine onto the ground so you see the puddle u have to step into to get into the car, etc.

well it doesnt have any auto off per se, but i have left my lights on once, i am pretty sure it was this car, and after like 5 mins they just turned off. i think its just there to save your battery if you accidently leave your lights on.

Just leave 'em on. They'll turn off eventually. You may then need a jump, of course.

That's way cool; I'm going to give that a try.

Can anyone please explain to me why you would want your doors linked to your headlights? Or more specifically why you would want your door to unlock when your headlights turn on.
It's just a safety feature.... Anybody walking to their car after dark would greatly appreciate this feature if located in an insecure area.

How is this "feature" any different from "auto off"?

the dome light comes on when you unlock it.

you could install a relay on that circuit to turn on the headlights when that circuit is activated.

It's a bit of wiring and routing, but not too difficult.

You attach the relay to the battery, the "trip" signal to the dome circuit, and you put the output from the relay straight to the headlights.
