Default Does anybody make this type of product?

After scuffing up the underside of my front lip on a parking concrete thingy, I am wondering if somebody makes what I might want to put on my car. (yes I feel like an idiot)

You know sometimes you see a pickup truck and it has on the top of the bed rails strips of black protective stuff that looks like 100 grit sandpaper? I was thinking that a little strip of this stuff if you could purchase it and cut to fit so it would not show that much but protect the lower part of the front lip from scratches.

Mine was scratchless until yesterday, but every parked S200 I see seems to have some scuffing in this area.

Links to suppliers appreciated.

TIA

There was one made for the AP1. The vendor sold his S2000 in 03 and bought a 350Z. So the product was never updated. I owned one and loved it.

or you can get a splitter

Thanks for the link. I will definately keep that as an option. I am hoping to find something in the cut-peel-and-stick in the $30 range option, but that looks like a nice product. I wish they had a front view.

Cut-Peel and stick??? That is not going to protect anything from a driveway, speed bump. The part posted above is made from metal.

Yeah but I think my needs might be different from some. I usually, except for yesterday, park extremely carfully and pulll in the last few feet of the space real slowly. When you pull in too far, you start to hear a schrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr of the lip scratching on concrete and can stop before real damage if you are going slow enough. I just would like a semi tough protective barrier to take a little abuse and not show much wear.

The metal guard looks more heavy duty but I am worried that it might hang down even lower. It will take more abuse but might catch on places like my driveway that never gave me a problem before.

If you know the pickup bedrail stuff I am talking about, it is pretty heavy duty for a sticker. And we all know stickers make your car go faster. I would bet a jillion dollars 3M makes something like what I am looking for, just don't know how to find it.

I book marked the metal guard though and might go with that.

It does not hang down at all. In fact, on my car it tucks in just below the lip on the inside of the front bumper. Mine has taken quite a licking over the 3 year, but the bummper has no new scratches. I did not have a lip.

I have one of the original ones made by Coastal Metals. Midwest Performance and Development is getting ready to be a sponsor here and they have a design on a new one. I'll let you guys know when all of this happens.
