I just put in a non-refundable deposit for a 2001 S2K at Mikesmithdirect.com dealership in Houston, TX. Getting it for MSRP + $395 for some leather, paint treatment. They say they have to do this.

Delivery is July 2001 which is fine for me cuz I haven't graduted from college yet. I am 22.

Is this a good deal, guys? I'm from Seattle so I would have to pay for freight to get it here.

 

I got mine for MSRP as well at Heritage of Westminster. My salesperson is Kristine Knife, she's been great to deal with! The last time I checked, they were getting 4 S2K's allotted for the dealership. You guys must be 2 of the 3 earlier deals, because I got there just in time to claim the last one!
What colors did you order? I'm getting silver/red.

 

Im first on the list. I was second but the guy dropped out, so I took his red/blk due in three weeks. AutoEX got my position for Jan delivery. I have spoken with both Robyn and Mike. Both very nice people.

 

Well, I found out yesterday that my 2001 is not even built yet! I have a production date of 11/10/00. It was SUPPOSED to be here late October or early November....yeah right! Looks like I'll have a late delivery after all. Knowing this info I am probably looking at a Jan/Feb delivery. This wait is really tough! I sold my Miata in August when I put my money down. Oh well, I never thought I'd look forward to winter!

 

Has anyone with a late delivery gotten their VIN number yet?

I got mine for MSRP. I think i'm getting hosed on the security system though. But otherwise I guess its a good deal. I agree, we should get together when we get them. Sounds like a plan.
