Yes, the Modifry shift beeper is one of the best mods I've made to my car. It gives three beeps before redline, and the interval between the beeps (in revs) is programmable, so you can program the beep interval to match your driving and shifting style. The beeper makes perfectly timed shifts a no-brainer, and also helps mark position and compare runs on autocross courses. The point on the course when the Nth. beep occurrs tells you whether you're going faster or slower than on previous laps. The thing is extremely useful as a shift beeper, and also has a valet mode and a high RPM memory, plus some other features. It integrates with the car's cruise control so all you have to do is wire it up; No switches to mount and nothing to mount on the dash or anything. It's not much for bling (because it will be unseen), but if you drive the car hard you'll love the thing.

 

does anyone else actually enjoy watching the rev meter sweep towards the red? i'm sure that it's more efficient to not have to look at the dash, but would it be as fun?

 

In competition watching the tach takes the eyes off where they need to be.

On the street, the beeper does not keep one from watching the tach, but watching the tach rather than the road is probably not the safest thing one could be doing.

I never watch the tach above 6k now.. sometimes I look down to see if I'm near vtec, but after I hear the switchover I just wait for the beep beep beep
