Default Does Comptech CAI sound like stock w/o cover

I couldnt find it anywhere...I searched for a good hour or two
Deciding between AEM V2 and Comptech...

I know that AEM sounds badass and has decent gains (my buddy has one on his silverstone)
But I read the comptech is only slightly louder than stock.

So would it compare to running stock airbox without the cover? (sound wise)

Under normal driving conditions (3k to 5k or non-WOT) its as loud as a stock box with cover. Under WOT, its loud, but throaty... much better than the stock box with the cover removed (which is a bad idea due to heat soak), but not "ricey" sounding. Best part is that there are no worries of hydrolock like with the AEM.

I'm about to get flamed but whatever..

AEM:

Comptech:

I think the extra $$$ is worth not having a piece of metal tubing that will suck up water along with anyting else below the car.....

Comptechis a much better piece IMO.

/\/\/\ I agree I think the comptech is a better intake, maybe one of the reasons that you don't see them as much on here as you do the AEM is price they are a little pricey, but a better solution I think. I woudl not like knowing that the AEM might be sucking up water and causing sever problems
