Does driving the s2k wear you out?
This is probably a stupid question but I noticed after the nearly hour long test drive I got of one a few weekends ago I was a little worn-out and when I mentioned it my gf said she felt the same way... we spent the entire time with the top down so I guess that could be a factor. Does this sound familiar to anyone? Does the s2000 wear you out after a bit of a drive with the top down or was I just being wierd? And if it does, is it any different with the top up vs the top down? Maybe it was just being buffeted around by the wind for nearly an hour?
The high noise definitely wears you out. If you have two cars and switch back and forth, it's a lot more noticeable how loud the interior can get even with the top up. Honda should've added active noise cancellation or something to the stereo system...
Spotch from ClubSi SvA?
Yeah, you can take a beating with the top being down. But also ia lot of the time you're having to pay a lot more attention to your driving in the S2000 than say in a family sedan or something. Both of those factors can wear you out if you're not used to it.
I made a 3500-miles trip from Texas to Cali and back with the top down 95% of the way, and I didn't have any problem at all. I never felt tired until I got to the hotel, where I immediately passed out.
Go ahead and buy one.....you know you want to.

Yeah, if your not used to a firm ride, and the noise of a open top car, it can be intense. also Im always more alert when driving the S because its "too easy to go fast" and Get a speeding ticket. and It can be a handful at times.

Yeah I was thinking the greater attention required had something to do with it.
greater overall sensory activity
higher levels of fun & excitement
noise levels & wind buffeting -
seem to at times contribute to a greater physical effect of feeling tired or worn out...weird but at other/most times driving my S wakes me up, gets me even more excited & exhilarated.

I daily drive my car, but 96% of the long trips I make (more than 100 miles) are for S2000 meets. I can drive by myself for 4 hours and be ready to keep on driving (top down, top up, hardtop on), but when I'm in a group of S2000's we push each other so I'm exhausted after 4 hours of driving.
There is a difference in S2000 meets and exhaustion though. I get less exhausted from an aggressive drive on a back road (like the Dragon) than I do following a pack of S's through Interstate Traffic probably because I only have to watch fellow S2000's (whose driving I trust more).

i can drive 5hrs straight with the top down. i find it comforting. car doesn't tramline, ride is not too rough. the sounds don't oscillate so it doesn't bug. my gf always falls asleep with the sun and wind in her face. she loves it.
ya I've done a 13 hour drive before in the S, (in one day) and a 12 hour this past Sunday...they were supposed to be 8-9 hours but things like the mudslide in California, and a big accident on I-10 on Sunday held me up...
I wouldn't say the S has been any more exhausting then any other car I've driven
