As has been stated, the secret is keeping the seals/gaskets pliable using Shin-Etsu grease. Apply liberally, if your seals are dry it may take a second application to re soften them.

a little bit of weatherstripping from Lowes on a few key locations helps out too.

Adjusted properly you will have no noticeable squeaks and creaks.

I get a little noise from the top in the CR when I drive the car onto an uneven surface at slow speeds. Like the front left wheel goes up the garage curb and the back right is still level on the driveway. Not really a squeak but some noise for sure. Other that, I don't hear anything, even at speed.

I may grease the stuff but my car has lived inside since it was new and the previous owner took really good care of it.

Immediately after my HT was installed it squeaked and rattled a bit. I put up with the noise for about a day, then went to the dealership for Shin Etsu silicone lube and applied it to all the soft black rubber seals on the outside edges of the hard top/windshield where the HT mates to the windshield, body, and around the windows.

My '06 S2K now has 88K miles on it; the HT is on the car year round, and has not needed any adjustments. This may help quiet things down too... For latch rattles the dealer can give you some EPT Sealant (kind of like foam weather stripping), it really doesn't take very much to perform the fix below:

Clickie ---> Squeaks and Rattling Latch Fix

I performed the fix, AND tied down the latch hooks on each side of the lowered soft top with plastic cable ties (rubber bands work too); now my hard top is very, very, quiet - even on the bumpiest roads.

shin-etsu.
sealant/foam stuffing.
rubber bands around the hooks where it touches the latches.

should be completely quiet after that, I made these changes this weekend. Those tiny creaks/squeeks from the smallest imperfections on the road drove me nuts.

Looks like a bunch of different responses here. With my OEM hardtop, I never had any rattles or squeaks.
