Default Does installing CAI void warranty?

Does installing a CAI void your warranty? I have only had the car a year and would like to be covered the remaining 2.

Thanks!

it'll be funny if the service manager tries to blame your AEM CAI if your A/C fails...

If something happens to your car ie. hydrolock or something else with the engine, the dealer will try to blame aftermarket parts for the problem. Now, with that said, lets say you had a problem with the AC, then no the CAI wouldn't void the warrenty. Another example are people that put FI on the car and then blow their diffs. They're SOL, the dealer will say that the diff was not designed to handle the extra power of FI and the owner ends up paying 3800 bucks. In short, if the dealer can find a wayto link the mod to the problem....your hosed.

but they really have to be able to prove that the broken part is a direct result of the mod that you put on your car.

Nope, they just have to say it. Sure legally the onus is on them to prove the mod caused the problem but it'll be you that's coughin up the legal fees to get them to state their side of the argument.

You got that right.....so, I can assume that dealers suck in Aus as well?

Just ask DHESS. He blew an engine and has been fighting them for 6 months.
