A CAI in your car...does it void the warranty on the car if a problem comes up?

As long as it cannot be attributed to the intake.

Blake's right, but it also depends on the dealer. I had one dealer tell me putting synchromesh in my car voided the warrenty, and I bought the friggin stuff from another Honda dealer!!!! I would talk to some loca guys in your area to find out "mod friendly" dealers. Lastly, I would think that it depends on the intake and where it sits. Jeff, at Ganley Honda, has a guy with a blown engine due to hydrolock, so if you get an AEM or Injen, I would keep the stock and plan to switch it prior to going to dealer, should you have any problems.

The Injen and AEM CAI have the intake infront of the radiator. While this pulls cold air, it also can suck water if you drive through a deep puddle. Some will say hydrolock is a myth, but as stated above myself and others have known folks who have blown engines b/c of their CAI. If that happens, your warrenty will be null and void. So, if you live in area with heavy rains and bad roads, as I do, you might want to consider a non-AEM/Injen type of CAI.

I have called Honda of America and they told me that no mods will void my warranty as long as nothing goes wrong with the car. I was told that a CAI would void my tranny warranty. I think that I have some real a$$hole dealers around where I live and they said they were mod friendly before I bought the car. Now they are shying away from their previous statement. As you could understand this pissed me off after spending that much money on a new car that I would have to bring back to stock if something went wrong with the car. Does anyone know a dealer in Monmouth county, NJ that aren's such a$$hole$.
