As for different brands, it comes down to different additive/detergent packages. Many believe all gas is the same. Many don't. Check out Top Tier Gas and generate your own opinion.
I guess my question is... Have you asked about fuel requirements for all your vehicles? And, if not, then why this one?

If the extra 15-20 cents a gallon is going to break the bank, you should reconsider your purchase.
At 20 cents extra per gallon, assuming a 10 gallon fill up once a week, it would be an extra $104 a year to run premium. Not a big deal.

yeah, i read that, but not all manuals are correct.....
Premium gas is higher octane so it burns more completely than regular. In a high output engine you done want back firing from unburned fuel blowing through the system. Its dangerous and inefficient.
Your engine has a lot of miles on it so don't risk a $4000 engine swap because you don't want to pay $.20 more/gal.
It is a Honda and you can beat on it like all others but the S needs love and respect. Remember that and you will reap the rewards.
I used to put 93 octane from Exxon here in Abilene but now i used 91 from the gas on base. why? Well when i use 93 i experience massive bad cold starts which takes 15 minutes to start the dam car. Since i went to elpaso for thanksgiving i only put 91 cause they dont have 93. now my car starts right up since ive been driving on 91 and it was the coldest its been here in abilene @ 34F and it started right up when it was 25F in el paso for black friday. it has to be the gas....
What the hell is a FG2?
I'm just saying, he bought a sports car and its not really meant for saving money or saving fuel. A lot of people buy civics because they are cheap, reliable, you can fill it up with 87 all you want, and it gets good gas mileage. If thats what the OP was looking for, he definetly bought the wrong car.

Some Civics require premium for the same reason the S2000 does.
