I thought I was an okay driver since I race shifter karts. BUT then I went to a high performance CAR driving school and got 'schooled'. It was totally worth the money for the school, and since it was a 'learning experiance' I even got a tax deductable receipt!

I consider myself to be a "fun" driver more than a fast driver. I love to drift, 2 wheel or 4...but no understeer please. Where I live there are ample roads that are smooth and curvy, so I get lots of practice. Believe it or not, I'm a bit tentative in the S2000. I think this car lulls people into a false sense of confidence somewhat, it's performance peramaters are not easily tapped, and once they are the car seems to be angry at such. I've never had the dreaded and sneaky 180 that peeps talk about, but I can imagine it would be paralizing at the speeds I drive (regularly in drift mode at over 90mph). I drive this car hard, but I know MY limitations well, and this car whispers to me..."do be careful with that Mr. Boy Racer"...and I listen.

The great handling just gets you into tougher situations. Losing it around a corner at 30 is much less disastrous than losing it around the same corner at 70!!!. You'll only think you're a good driver until you push the stook past it's limits.

Of course I'm a good driver and never had any of these problems...

My minor heart palpitation was caused by not enough R-E-S-P-E-C-T coming of an island in the W-E-T. I think you need something like it early on but not too severe

Last Year, I crashed my Stook.
This is how the car looked after the crash,,,

http://www.zigzagasia.com/cars/s2000/011/project.html

The rear just snapped.

I learned a good lesson though, as before this crash I thought I was "FAST"!
Even on Shutoko (Tokyo's Highway) I was able to beat Lancer EVO's and Imprezas, sometimes GT-Rs not because I was driving a Stook, but because I thought I was a better ( fast ) Driver than the others driving a turbo charged 4wd cars that had over 300 bhp.

But I realized after this crash, that the confidence that had built up in me had nothing to do with my real skills. Stook is a fun car to drive, and all the factors are there to feel the "driving pleasure" . I now know that i really need to go to a driving school to get to know a cars limit.

Beacause afterall, the limit of you and the the limit of the car you are driving, is totally different. You have to go to a track and feel the car's actual limit to really know what the car can do, other wise, you are just guessing and assuming the car's limit like I have been doing,,,,,and end up like the above pic,,,,sorry stook,,,,,,

Totally opposite way... I thought I was a good driver until I drove S2000. May be in the beginning, I might have but recently, I realized that I'm using about 1/2 of car's potential. S2k is easy to drive. Anybody can drive it good but to unlock the s2k's real potential, I think I need to go to school and practice.

cheers,

It makes me feel like I'm driving a race car, so that definitely influences me to drive agressively.

Also opposite here. The stook makes me know how far I have to go to be good-n-fast. I was good-n-fast in my Integra GSR. I could go beyond its limits and recover, especially in the wet. My S2K is more of an unknown beast to me. Maybe after I race it for as long as I did the GSR. I know the S2K limits are higher but so's the obvious penalty for screwing it up. I'm not slow. Just slower than the car is capable of.
