Does ti knobs fade?

There is supposed to be a way to color titanium using soda water and a 9V battery. Google it. It should be possible to turn the knob completely blue if thats what you want, no heat involved.

My Spoon Ti knob faded. I'm hesitant to torch it because it's hard to get a uniformed color with a small torch. Anybody know how they do it or what kind of heat they apply?

If you try it, let me know how it turns out. I've got the OEM-TI and I'd love to blue part or all of it. It would be kool to blue the shift pattern, at the very least.

Will this process affect other metals? My Mr. Alex Ti knob has a heli-coil and i'm unsure of it's composition. All I know about it is that it's non-ferrous and has a copper hue.
