Default Does V-tec sound softer after awhile?

I just recently changed all my fluids oils, tranny, & diff about 500 miles ago. V-tec was screaming beautifully at 6000 rpm. Than just today all of a sudden the tone got softer. Someone explain this to me or is this normal?

If VTEC is engaging but not as strong as usual, it's often a dirty air intake filter. If VTEC is not engaging at all when cross 6000 RPM, you have bigger problems.

engine oil level has a lot to do with when vtec hits. and it could be the heat.
