Kai Wang, the ratios of your front to read width is the major problem... You can still maintain the diameter by going with a wider but lower profile rear...

Ah ok, that explains it. I rarely go anywhere in the S2000 when its cold out. And if I do, I'm always sure to give the tires warm up time before making any hard turns or hard accelerations. My S02's only have ~7000 miles on them (0 track time), so they still grip fairly well when warm.

getting some 18's soon

225/40 front
255/35 rear

can i get SO-2 pole positions in these sizes & is anybody using the pole positions, i was gonna go with the SO-3's but you guys seem to dislike them very much.

Liquid: irrespective of what tire you get you are going to get close to the same behaviour as Kai Wang at the limit - your rears are too narrow for the fronts or your fronts are too wide for the rears. The S02 Pole Positions are not necessarily better than the S03 Pole Positions. If you get the regular S02's you may have better dry grip...
