I can't understand why cars don't have read-ahead buffering like walkmans do for anti-skip.

What's your experience?

Neither my stock dash CD player nor my Sony 10 disc changer in the trunk has ever skipped, even on corrugated roads.

if you are talking about the OEM changer -- it has a switch for either a.) horizontal or b.) vertical use -- make sure the switch is set correctly -- otherwise -- no problem here

In Dash CD; Never

OEM Changer; rarely but only over large potholes.

Wasn't aware of the horizontal/vertical setting. Will keep that in mind.
Thanks

I brought up the topic because it has happened in my in-dash player.

I have never heard a skip. I assumed all auto CD players had anti-skip devices.
