Does your CD player skip (stock stereo)?
I very rarely listen to the radio or CD player while driving. Like RJ_S2K, I like to hear the sound of the engine, the exhuast, and the traffic around me. Unlike RJ_S2K, I'm trying not to go crazy listening for transmission noises.
However, the few times I've listened to the CD player, I have had it skip when changing lanes and going over those reflector bumps on the road. This is probably related to tire pressure (I'm using 37/35 psi).

Don't know about US vehicles but Aussie CD stackers certainly have read ahead buffering. After I switch the CD on it takes at least 5 seconds whilst it is buffering before I hear music.
