Doesn't the cupholder block your shifting arm?

The Japanese were never big on cup holders. I had an '88 Accord a long time ago that didn't have any cup holders.

I picked up one of those cupholders that you can hang from your door - a flap sticks in the window seal. When not in use, it's under my seat.

Why drink and drive when you can smoke and fly!

Dan, you crack me up.

I've found that the cup holder is in one of the most inconvenient spots when there's something in it. Snapple bottles are the worst! Most of the time, I don't keep anything in the cup holder - I make my passenger hold it for me!

The only thing I keep in the cup holder are hair ties or my cell phone.

I used to try holding drinks in it...but even the smallest Starbucks drink is no good. The drink holder is just deep enough that it will sometimes snap the lid of the cup right off.

Needless to say, I have lost quite a bit of weight since going Starbucks-less.

Usually I have my wallet and mobile phone sitting in there (rather than in my back pockets).

Bottles of drink can just sit in the passenger seat and roll around. I find any cup of drink in any car holder, you have to drink about 1/4 of it straight away otherwise it will end up spilling on the first corner.

I try not to drive with tall items sticking out of the cup holder.

I don't think my 91 CRX (DX) had any sort of cupholder. I missed it then. Not in my S2000 though. I never have anything open inside except maybe a bottle a water with the passenger. No Coke's, no coffee, nothing with sugar (open anyway). I'm a real tyrant.
Anyone ever notice how perfectly cans of Red Bull stack up in the glove comparment thingie? I've had like 4 in there, I think it may even go 6.
I'm pretty sure the cupholder is also where the OEM ashtray and lighter are installed. Maybe it better serves that purpose. I don't let anyone smoke in the car either so I don't know about that though.
Might be a cool place to hide a switch for something.
