Default Dome light question

Is there a side which has a releasing end or something? I want to change out my stock dome light bulbs with red ones. Just use a flat screw driver on which side? Any tips? I just dont want to break it trying to open it

It is very easy with a flat screwdriver. Unfortunately, I don't remember which side releases (it might even be both sides); my guess is the front side (closest to the windshield). Regardless, just put the screwdriver in and gently tug, and it should come out very easily. If one side doesn't work, try the other.

It's the long side of the box. The side farthest from you/closest to the windshield. Just duct tape a flat tip screwdriver and nudge it. It'll come right off. If it doesn't, you're doing it to the wrong end. I did the wrong end before and it left ugly scratch marks.

I just picked up an 01 S. My dome light does not come on when I open the doors, nor do the lights come on when I move the switch to the on position. However, they do work when I press the actual light.

I take it this isn't normal. any clue?
