Door lock behavior question
Fixing up a relative's S2000 that has sat for about 8 years and I am not too familiar with the car so not sure all of what is normal and what might need fixing.
For the door locks both will unlock from the key fob but I have to press the unlock button twice to get the passenger side to unlock, this seems normal as a lot of cars have that feature but wondered if there was an option to unlock all doors at once? The real question is if the passenger side lock is able to be unlocked from the driver's side without just reaching over? For this car the manual switch on the driver's door can be operated but it doesn't cause the passenger side to unlock. The car only has 2030 miles on it and a fresh battery so other than just grease hardening up somewhere in the works I don't know why it wouldn't work just fine.
Any pointers or information would be appreciated.

Ok, so it is behaving as designed just not quite how most cars are designed and as you mention it is a good thing the car is narrow. Thanks for the help so I don't have to go digging into the door cards to try and fix anything
Even on my cars that allow the remote to open both/all doors with one (1) press of the remote I disable it. There are circumstances I only want the driver door to unlock and leave everything else locked. Hardly an inconvenience to push the button twice.
Note the S2000 will relock the doors if you unlock with the remote and don't open a door in 30 seconds. Mine will randomly lock, maybe "buttlock," the car in the garage sometimes so do NOT leave the keys in the car. Someone here with a dead battery (which they had moved to the trunk!) locked their keys in the trunk recently but I don't recall the outcome.

On a car this low miles, this rare and valuable, check in with us before doing anything. I mean anything. Ask first.
Even an oil change. There are things to know and do that are important and not always intuitive.
The tires aren't safe to drive on (rubber too old now), so you'll want to have them replaced. Even if it had tires just before storage, they are too old now. If tires are original, they are dangerous hockey pucks.
Replace only with summer tires. Do not use all season tires. Car especially sensitive to sidewall stiffness. Won't handle right with all seasons. As in, spooky. You can ask on wheel and tire subforum which modern tire choices would be a good match.

My biggest pet peeve with my S ('06 Suzuka) is the way the door locks behave.
1- I haven't found a way to lock the driver's side without using the fob? I tried holding the lock while pulling the outside handle open, doesn't work.
2 - After unlocking the doors. they re-lock after a minute or so? Kind of a pain when I'm putting something in the passenger seat. By the time I get around to the driver's door, it is locked.
I know, minor inconveniences.

1. Try it again. Just locked my '06 this way. The remote is much easier so I keep one with the ignition key.
1a: Open the door.
1b: Pull and hold inside (or outside) door handle.
1c: Lock door from inside.
1d: Close door.
You can exit anytime after step 1a and before 1d.
(You can do this (1b) still seated in the car.) (All my wife's Civics worked this way too.)
2. Only if you used the remote unlocking feature. Opening any door after unlocking with remote key bob within 30 seconds disables the auto lock. Recommend standing near the passenger door if you can't get there in 30 seconds. I used to be able to run 1/10 mile in 30 seconds -- bet you could too.

I flushed the brake and clutch fluid with Honda DOT3, drained/refilled the transmission with Honda MTF, cooling system with Honda Type2, engine with Honda filter and Castrol Edge full synthetic 10w-30, differential with Mobil 1 75w-140 and the fuel tank with fresh premium gas. Tips from the forums and other videos were my resource material but if there is anything critical I might have missed please pass it along.
For tires I went with Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4 in factory sizes as the owner is an 80 year old woman and a quieter smoother ride is more critical than maximum performance and for the chauffeured trips (she can't drive a manual which is why the car sat since her husband passed away) on the weekends I can't imagine that it will be unsafe.
I ordered part number 15400-PCX-306 from HondaPartsNow which I believe is the S2000 specific part but now that I think about it I did not confirm the part number on the item they sent me before I installed it but that would be a very rare mistake. Not sure if the part number is on the actual filter anywhere but will double check it for my sense of comfort.
