Door lock behavior question
Yep nostalgia but the car's driver's door lock is set up for this. Gotta remember the S2000 is year antique 20th century technology and Honda grabbed the locks off the shelf. As for technology the first generation iPhone wasn't announced until 2007. Remote locking systems with little fobs have been around for 40 years -- 1982-ish.
The passenger door lock is electrically linked to the driver's door lock. The interior driver's door lock (the little tab) locks both doors. For the external key lock in the driver's door turn the key to the L(eft) to Lock both doors and the Right to unlock the driver's door and hold in that position for a second more to also unlock the passenger car. If this doesn't work I suspect a bad connection between the doors.
Automatic re-lock only seems to occur if the doors are unlocked via the remote. I suspect this is to keep the car secure if Unlock is pressed rather than Lock or if the doors get unintentionally butt-unlocked. I further suspect this is why my S2000 is locked occasionally in my secure garage and the keys are in my pocket.
