DREAMIN' UP THE FUTURE S2K!
first gen engine, slightly more interior room for shoulders, side airbags, and somehow a lot less weight. Keep the 16" wheels/tires from gen 1, but light as possible. Delete stereo option, bigger rear window.
Lighter, basically. No need for more power if it goes on a diet.

my ideas are....
get rid of the aircon
new lighter bucket seats,
strip out the leather and stuff and just have a fibre coating
lighter wheels
slightly better suspension
reduce weight stripping anything unecassary out
make the engine have 160hp/L
make the front vents functional to cool the front pads
get rid of the stereo
that would be nice, but i love my S as it is

Granted the fun factor is whats most important, but the reason I say more power now is because, well, the competition is catching up and surpassing us. Back in its introduction, the S2000 dominated the roadster category, but BMW and Porsche have caught up. Granted yeah, those cars do cost more, but they did cost more back then as well.
I agree with the statement of having a Z06 and how you can't really use the power, etc etc, and I'm not asking for the car to have 400hp, but when virtually every car these days above 25 grand has 300hp, why not the S2000?
For everyone who says that we should not complain about the power, I will be willing to bet that if given the choice of a 240hp S2000 or a 300hp S2000 (factory made from Honda and holding everythign else constant) for about the same price, they would choose teh 300hp S2000. Point is that no one wants a lower powered car, but what swayed us to the S2000 vs. a 350Z for example might have been things like driving experience, factors that might have outweighed teh 350Z torque advantage.
Fact of the matter is that the next generation is going to be heavier (new generations always are), and it's going to be competing against 300+ hp Porsches and BMWs, not to mention the Solstice GXP and Sky Redline whcih both make 260hp, so it's goign to have to be more powerful; and that will draw new drivers and motivate previous owners to get the new one.
