Drive top down without getting WET possible?
In normal rain you can stay dry. In a real downpour you WILL get wet, regardless of speed. The problem isn't the actual rain falling. It's the water that hits the car and runs over the top of the windshield and side windows. I tested this personally.
it was bright and sunny here in socal and so i had the top down..all of a sudden it started raining while i was on the freeway...but no water got in the cabin at all and windows were rolled down. the looks you get from other drivers is classic

Yeah I ran into a light rainfall once, no problem at all...well then that light rainfall turned into a monsoon!!! Well I wasnt really getting wet, but the water from the windshielf was hitting me, so I decided to pull over and put the top up incase it kept raining like this for a long time....well one word of advice DONT PULL OVER!!!! In the time it took me to stop from 60, pull the ebrake, hit 0MPH, and hit the switch I WAS SOAKED!!
I dunno... I had an MGB on Guam years ago and had to wait several weeks for a new top to arrive after the old one kind of rotted away... I got caught out in the rain a bunch of times... I had one of those zip up/partial toneau (-5 sp) covers you could unzip so just the driver's seat and driver were exposed to the elements... I used to get plenty wet but then, it didn't necessarily "sprinkle" on Guam when it rained... I second the motion to pass this on to the mythbusters...
I do it all the time. If you don't use the wipers you can stay completely dry, but this requires that your W/S be treated. If you use the wipers you will get a little bit of water over the side windows but not much.
Here I am cruising in a mild rain. Our entire caravan of S2000s (10+) was top down.

A lady from the SoCal thread told myself a few other SoCal S2000 members during a meet about her being in a top down cruise with other S2000 drivers and not having rain hit them at all in the interior. I'd rather not risk this, though.
