Default Drive by wire or mechanical

Hi I have a MY 04 and always wondered what it felt like to drive an 06 and later with Drive by wire
For those of you that have driven both are you able to tell the difference and which do you prefer

I also say no. But please search the forums, as this topic has been discussed ad naseum. Then delete this thread, as it will start yet another stupid pointless debate on the topic, with each side implying the lack of manhood of the other

Drive by Wire = Flashpro.

Flashpro is gods gift to 06+ AP2's. If your going to drive one, make sure it's a tuned 06+ and you'll be blown away.

This coming from someone that has had an 00, 03, 05 and 08 S2000.

Even tuned, there's a noticeable difference between DBC and DBW. Heel toe and rev matching will require slight blips of the throttle with DBC versus more foot English to get the same response with DBW. Both of the DBW cars I have driven were tuned and I still noticed that I need to apply a generous amount of throttle compared to the light taps I can do with my car. Those with experience in tuning the throttle maps for DBW cars may be able to chime in whether or not that can be corrected through a focused effort using a Flashpro, but from what I've seen on the forums, even after remap the DBC requires less pedal effort.

Personally I prefer additional feedback you get through a DBC pedal, and the only thing Flashpro provides is a cheaper and easier tuning solution over '05 and under cars. If you have the wallet for it, the only serious drawback of not having Flashpro available is when there are class limitations preventing you from running AEM or KPro.

As a Nascar,USCA & Arca driver for years,I prefer DBC.I can tell a diff in the TR,especially during downshifts in corners.

That's just my .02 cents.

Throttle Sensitivity can be adjusted via the Flashpro. A throttle body upgrade really wakes the car up as well as other supporting mods.

To the average owner there is no noticeable difference between DBC or DBW cars.

I like DBC a lot more. there are roomers of drive by wire steering systems coming out soon. with no linkage from the steering wheels to the rack. sounds crazy but ford has it approved for production

I guess nobody listened to you.......

I have an 03 and I have driven a stock ap2 dbw and the difference is noticeable, but like others have said, I'm sure a tune will make it less noticeable.
