mine was broken last night, would you believe that the window is on national backorder? took my cds, valentine1, shift knob, phone charge cable and the faceplate to my radio. radio is still there, the punks just got the faceplate. morons. not even worth claiming on insurance cuz they won't cover the radar detector or cds cuz they're not permanently attached. window is 230 and shift knob is what, 60? faceplate will probably be like $100. v1 is 400. piece of shit. hooray for new credit cards. insurance and teenage punks, go to hell. i never stole petty shit when i was a kid. statues, street signs, telco equipment, but never personal property.

bastards. they hurt my lucy.

the enterprise guys were real cool though. normally a sebring convertible is $50/day, they give to me for $36/day. that made me semi-happier. the brakes are shitty, but at least it's a convertible. no cd player but i don't have any cds anymore anyway. losers.

Hey Man,

I am sorry to hear that. I had the same thing happen. In fact last night someone tried to steal my rims! I did'nt even notice until I heard a clicking sound and checked my front right. 3 lug nuts barely in 4 th holding things together and my wheel lock was missing! ^%@^%#%^ bastards!
I'm paranoid they have the lock so they might be able to pattern a key off of it. And mugen lug nuts are'nt cheap!
I feel your pain!

-m

p.s. my cd collection got jacked the other night too.

(*&^&^%&^!! Bastards probably don't and would'nt appreciate my 45 rare imports. Damm!

Josh3io - I'm so sorry to hear that. I know EXACTLY how you feel. About 5 months ago, my 2000 C5 was broken into. They smashed the passenger window, stole my V1, AND my chrome wheels and tires (I stupidly left the lug nut key in the center console). They damaged the paint too. All up.....about $9000 damage including my decictible and cash in the car.

The shitty thing is trying to get all the glass out of the car. It gets everywhere. careful you don't cut yourself man.

Ring Valentine Research immeditely and report the theft of the V1. They will 'mark' the serial number so that if anybody rings up to order accessories or if it goes in for warranty repair - they will be sprung! I did that with mine - who knows if one day it might turn up!

You could also monitor ebay for any suspicious looking V1 sales in your area. If they only have the power cord and unit, or yours had some distinguishging marks, it may be yours. Also, maybe you programmed yours differently that would be a giveaway. Most people don't know how to program the V1, so they wouldn't knowhow to change it to stock programming. If you find the guys that did it, I can lend you a baseball bat if you like

Visceral - I know that the car is photoshopped , but what wheels are they and what size?

I had a really good alarm fitted to my car with perimeter and shock sensor. I also keep my wheel lock keyt in the safe at my home. I just carry a can of fix-a-flat instead of the spacesaver anyway!

Cheers,

thanks, i rang V1. ordered a new one while i was at it.

I took it to larry hopkins honda on el camino in sunnyvale. they said they'd get the rest of the glass out.

no est. for the window, national backorders suck ass. seems to be a common theme anytime i have a broken part on my car.

Sime,

there is a SPECIFIC place for the wheel lock key to be stored in the C5... You know what I am talking about dont you? The center console is NOT it

that really sucks...

Man, I'm paranoid about break ins and thinking someone will cut my top, but atleast duct tape can keep the elements out...

The window is the cheaper thing to be broken, but at the expense of being without the car while the window is ordered... sux... sorry to hear about it.

I guess having the window broken, renting a car, etc isnt quite as cheap as I thought... of course the top wouldnt be cheap either...

Man, I need to get an alarm...
