Default Driver's side door armrest tear/hole

It's like I'm re-living the late 1970's TV ads for iron-on goo to make your dashboard like new!

My 130,000 '01 car has a tear in the armrest where I rest my left elbow (left-hand drive car). I've already patched it once with an iron-on polymer material, although I did not renew the padding underneath. Of course, it just torn again, and it's uncomfortable for my elbow.

1) How much does a new door insert cost?
2) Does anyone have any long-lasting, not too-ugly, creative fixes?

not too sure if they sell that insert seperately but you can find used mint condition center consoles anywhere from 250-300$.

You could buy an inner door panel from a salvage yard.

Check the classifieds both main and regionals. Black door panels have popped up for 200-400 for a near new pair.

Just get new inserts or door panels and switch the inserts over. I found my door panels for $100 for an all red set. You just have to look around...

I too have a few sets of door inserts for you. A repair that has failed already can not really be fixed again
