You will most likely need a new window regulator - warranty fix.
You can try a temporary fix at home:

Might last a day. Might last forever (not likely).

Hey, how the heck did my reply end up being the first one?

Default Drivers side window

Been on here almost 2 years and I think this is my 1st post of a question/problem. This is such a good site, most all my questions can be or have been answered.

Anyways, when I raise or lower my roof my drivers side window doesn't go down. Well, it goes down a lil. If I toggle the roof switch back and forth it will eventually come all the way down. This happened for the 1st time 2 days ago and I figured it must have just been a fluke, but I tested it out today and had the same problem.

Anybody have/had this problem?

Thanx,
Jon

There is an ECU that handles automatically rolling down the window when you lower the top. It's probably failed. If you're still under warranty, it's covered

Wow, you answer all the questions here, and now you're answering them BEFORE they're asked!

I thought the "window rolls down 2 inches..." problem was an ECU. I think mine was changed on our '00.

Hehe, cool huh?! There was a glitch and one of the servers crashed and screwed up all the sequence and times. Thanks for quoting my post so it comes later so people can see it.

The ECU doesn't control the windows as such. It's all integrated with the top, ebrake and door switches. Coming down a few inches is pretty typical of the window regulator. Doing that "temporary" fix will confirm this. It's just the regulator has had a brain fart when it comes to open and close limits. In most cases, this "brain fart" becomes a "lobotomy".
An even simpler and cheaper solution (if out of warranty) would be to wire in an "Autoloc" device. This fixes the problem and will also give you auto "UP".

Could it be a problem with the fuse? I had it acting pretty weird once and I fixed it by replacing the fuse.

Hmmmm, odd. Which fuse? And was it only the window or was it the top too?

Yup, there is some electronic part that tells the windows to roll down when the top is lowered. Window works great with the regular window switch, just not with the top switch. If I had my service records in front of me I would post the part number, because mine was defective and replaced under warranty.

This is a really common ailment, I was hoping that Honda had fixed this by 2003.

I'd have thought that it was the window switch that was at fault. On my old integra, my window lost the "auto down" feature. I could still roll the window down fine, but had to hold the switch down the whole way. My S is doing the same thing. I'm going to try switching out the window switch (actually, the whole master control).

Thanx for the link x-viper. A quick and easy fix and everything seems to be working fine now. Hope it lasts, but if it continues I'll just take it in to the dealership. Damn, I hate dealerships!
