Default Driving with Broken Top Latch

Hey everyone!!

Been browsing the forum for years and finally got a beautiful silverstone s2k so I made an account!

Kinda a stupid first post but I have a question for everyone.

My right convertible top latch has broke and will not latch the top down so I have to drive around with only the drivers side latch locked into place.

I would just keep the top down always but it is getting very cold here and raining ever so often so I am curious if I am causing any damage by driving around town

and on the highway with only one latch latched. Could I be doing any damage to the convertible top frame? I try to keep the windows cracked to relieve the air pressure on

the frame and I'm extremely OCD but not sure what to do as this is my daily driver and I drive about 5 miles a day round trip to work. I ordered new latches from honda but

they wont be here for 1-2 days so I want yalls opinion. The top seems like it is pretty tightly secured with only one latch but whenever i hit large bumps it rattles a little.

Thanks bros!!!

Try hooking the latch as though locked then tape / strap the latch closed. This temporary measure you'll be fine for a couple days.

K well I did what you suggested and it def works temporarily, thank you!

But am worried as I have now driven a whole day with only one latch (approx 3 miles rural 1 mile highway ~65mph).

Do you think this could have contorted my softop frame at all? It was pretty windy today. I am thinking I am being a little crazy about it but just want to make sure so I can sleep lol.

Thanks for the quick response!

When you replace the latches or even with the temp latch fix your naturally pulling the soft top back into shape, so unless you notice more wind noise than normal I'd say you'll be fine.

if you search Shopman latch fix this will be an even better fix and can be permanent in the event that the latch goes again.
