About 1000 mile trip..Just got my S about a month ago.Any tips? Iam worried about stone chips...Iam going to try to keep my distance but i know iam going to get them..But i was thinking of getting the masking tape that body shops use to tape off b4 painting and covering the whole front bumper half the fenders and hood and the bottom of the back bumper...Keeps bugs off and mayb e help with stone chips has anyone did anything like that

 

chips are inevitable. Have a safe drive.

 

You won't be able to get it installed in time, but a clear bra would prevent paint chips.

 

i use thick 1" bubble wrap... make sure to heavily tape it tho...;-)

people look at me strange but i dont have chips..

on shorter 1-2 hour trips i just HEAVILY triple stage wax the front.. the bugs hit it and just get peeled away by air..coefficient of friction isnt enuff to hold them on..yeah talk about getting technical.lol just go to ups and get bubble wrap and use like 50 ft of duct tape

 

Use the blow masking tape at homedepot, it has medium adheisive so it doesnt stick to your car when you want to peel it off.
