Default Driving help

OK last night at around 2am i was driving back home w/ a friends and i take a turn very fast because the streets are empty and im not sure if i jerked the steering wheel , hit v-tec i dont know but the car starts oversteering and my back end comes out and i am facing the curb so i slam on the brakes and stop i almost had a heart atttack. Does anyone know if there are any drivng schools arround Miami/Florida or something beacuse that scared me so much. Would reading one of those racing books help?
BTW this is my first RWD

well when you say you took the turn very fast, exactly how fast do you mean? Do you remember your speed, and what kind of angle turn was it?

It could have been that you took the turn to fast for that angle, and at 2 a.m. I would think the streets would have a lot of moisture so that may have had an effect as well. How is the tread on the tires?
As far as taking driving school goes, it's not really needed. You will gradually get used to driving a rwd, and it'll be more and more easy to understand the cars behavior.

I was lucky to start off with a rwd car as my first car.

A cheaper and funner alternative is finding an indoor karting place where you can practice kicking the rear end into a turn and sliding through at a pedestrian 40 mph. The ones around me are around $20 for a 12 min session.

If you are into schools, try the local race track.

Yes, a driving school would be a great idea. Besides, it is fun.

As for books, my favorite so far has been Speed Secrets by Ross Bentley.
