..but, how many points do you need on your driving record before your license is suspended?

That is state law dependent but generally three speeding tickets might do it.

SC is 12 points. Speeding less than 10mph over limit is 2 points, over is 4 points, unless they tack on reckless driving which can get you 6 points.

BTW, someone from NC should post the law for there as I was caught speeding in NC over 15 years ago and 15 mph over the speed limit was an automatic suspension of license for 6 months - sure it's the same or worse now. I had a radar detector - escort - but they timed me with vascar (sp?) - averaging 80 mph going up the mountain to Hendersonville in my RX7!
