Driving the S2000
There is an expression in the motorcycle world, "You never see a motorcycle in front of a psychiatrist's office", the same applies to the S2000. Another member mentioned Billman, I went to him when I lived in New York but I'm lucky to live near LHT Performance and John, the owner, said he would still install supercharges on customer's S2000s even if he won the lottery. After watching his videos and meeting him, he does exactly as he says. It's nice having a car with Honda reliability and even better having an honest specialist who loves what he does.
I live in Vermont near the border with New Hampshire. I am surrounded by excellent twisty paved roads winding through the country side. Its like heaven on earth for the s2k. I can easily go for a 3 - 4 hour round trip drive on these roads. What a joy. Especially on a warm early October day when the leaves have turned, the air is crisp and clear, and the sun still has some strength left.

It seems to me that you don't drive the S as much as you wear it...like a well fitted suit. I drive an 07 NFR, with CR dampers and shocks and 245 Hankooks. I plan to autocross a bit and maybe some HPDE. I have an 86 Mustang LX convertible (original owner), with an EFI 351 Windsor (converted 92-94) and largely Griggs suspension. I've used it for HPDE since 1994. When I first heard about the S2K, I was totally unimpressed, considering how you had to dog them to get the RPM's up. After having every single S2K I encountered on a track leave me in the dust, my opinion changed. I bought mine in 2016 with 59 K miles and now have 69 K miles. The Mustang is loud and torquey but is much harder to drive around a track than the S. One is a mallet and the other is a stiletto.
Every time I drive this car, I am reminded of how lucky I am to be able to drive this car. 24,500 miles and climbing. I've logged 8,115 miles in the driver's seat in the 2 years I've owned it.
That you've owned 4, returning a total of 3 times (as opposed to someone who collects these cars and owns multiples) is pretty telling. Your passion for these cars must run deep, although hopefully your ownership history is not representative of a love/hate relationship. What was your shortest period of ownership as well as your longest?
