well, I agreed with them on one thing, E36 M3 is much easier to launch, for the equal-no-skill-driver, most likely M3 will eat the S2000. However, why people always think straight line power is all that...?? I personally like the corner speed, how the car handles...etc well, I am more an autocross guy (like the small tight turns) so, M3 is never on my list.. but a great high performance luxury 4 seater to me, if I have money to buy a 50K worth luxury sedan/coupe for the beater, after C32, E46 M3 that is.... Oh!! my car is not the best, it is just I like my car the most....

I know its a long thread, but some guy tryed to say its chassis wasent very stiff because it was a convertable, and its aerodynamics were worse. But he got straigtened out. Most people on there seem to be cool with the s2k.

i don't think any of those bimmer drivers have drove an S2000, else they wouldn't say "Those charts are decent, but seems like you wouldnt want to go below 6k RPM much which sounds rediculous."

why do people always automatically think the S lacks low end scoot just because of the torque numbers?

A lot of people think the s2k sucks because of its "low" numbers. Oh well, they are very mistaken..

Everytime I click on a link to another site's discussion on our car, I'm always met with the usual plethera of S2000 "experts" who post the same tired cliches they've no doubt read in some automobile fish wrap. I should start posting my S2000 questions in other forums since there appears to be so many experts on our car.
If I listed all of the inaccuracies posted in that thread, I'd be up most of the night and miss the second half of the Lakers/King's 7th game. Suffice to say Abe Lincoln was correct in stating "better to remain silent and thought a fool than to open one's mouth and remove all doubt." I close with one tidbit of mung too good to ignore from that thread: "yes 240hp at 9000 rpm or whatever is overrated."

"Now between a type R and a s2000... I would probably take the Type R. I think that it feels a little faster because the power comes a little quicker than 8k rpm. It also felt a little more sturdy and confidence inspiring than the s2k... "

Funny stuff huh? LOL

Jeez, they all seemed to be obsessed with magazine numbers and such. I had an e36 M3 and that car was such a blast. Definitely easier to launch and that low-end torque is sure nice. On the racing/competition forum, it seems like the e36 M3 will put in faster lap times than the S2000 on a road-race course. Of all the times I've been on the track (incl a Honda-sponsored event), I've never been passed by an S2000. But oh that S2000. One test-drive and I was sold.

Well.. it's also true that some from this forum will talk about E36 M3
before even getting a ride in it...

I own a E36 M3 and probably a future owner of S2000... and drove my friends
S2000 a few times... I say there's enough go from low end in city traffic... but
until I get more seat time... I shall hold my comments on these two cars...
