Default dumb question that needs a good answer

ok, i'm going to buy the aem cold air intake, and of course i'm tryin to decide about the bypass valve or not? does any know close numbers of how much a bypass valve will actually take away. Any dyno charts to show? i'm only gonna have an intake and exhaust so i want to know how much the bypass valve will cut out??

i need all the help i can get

From what I've read here (search would be useful), many think the bypass valve disrupts airflow enough to cancel whatever benefits the AEM would otherwise provide.

I too have heard the bypass negates the CAI benefit.

However, I haven't seen any dyno charts to prove/disprove that theory.

Anyone else?

I've heard the same rumors...but no real proof of either claim. As long as you leave the splash guard intact and plug the drain hole under the hood you should be fine. I'm running the AEM V1 like this and have been parked in some pretty good NC rainstorms because of work and so far so good. I do avoid puddles as well, can never be too carefull.
