I was launching at around 6-7k, just drive up and go don't get your tires wet. Don't wheel hop, have fun. You may want to take of like your taking off from a stop light but just very fast.

haven't been to the dragstrip with the s2000 but i would probably only do a five grand launch, an eight grand launch makes me cringe. i really don't want to break my differential...

I personally hate the drag strip, S2ks are great street cars/ road race cars but either way... I was at the track the other day watching my friend run his bike and I just so happened to see a few S2k drivers running like 15.1s, 15.4s, etc. These were S2ks with exhausts and prolly some other mods. Then I saw another guy in a STOCK as balls Rio yellow 2004 running 13.7s consistantly on some "okay" launches. After watching him run and talking to him he definately said and it looked like that he could even get lower than that. Its all about driver with S2000s.

13.4-13.5 nearly every pass last year at 102-104mph, it could go faster, mods were TP FIPK, Wilwood brakes and TR Motorsports wheels.

just curious...what difference does it really make if you run a 14.2 or a 13.9? it's three-tenths of a second faster over a quarter mile. is it just for bragging rights or something?

if you go to the track, abuse the hell out of your car, possibly bust your differential, waste tires and gas, but you shave .3 sec off your 1/4 mile time, does that make it worth it? you go home that night, go to sleep, wake up the next day, and...everything's the same, right?

or do you possibly just go to have a good time? i guess that's a legit reason to go to the track with your S2000, though we all know this car wasn't built to drag race.

just wondering what your thought processes were...
