Now that I have seen & used one.

how do people with AWD dyno the car?

I think they are generally out of luck. Why would a shop double their investment for a few AWD customers.

There aren't many places that do it.
The only 2 that I know of are:

The 4 wheel drive dyno's can most likely be used for regular fwd or rwd cars, so the investment would possibly be worth it (all subarus, a bunch of audi's, and lots of F150's )

Oh yeah, you could also use an engine dynometer.
