Sup fellas haven't posted up in the main forum for a while, got a quick Q for you guys/gals.

When is it to early to switch to synthetic? I plan on switching on my next oil change 8K. Is it to early or will I be fine?

 

i think most people switch over anytime after 6k

 

did mine at 10k- dealer recommendation and also (at that time) the recommendation of the board...

 

Probably doesn't make much difference but I've chosen 10k also. I also plan to do subsequent changes every 5K thereafter and only becuase this milage number is so easy to remember.

 

you'll be fine at 8k.

 

I changed to synthetic on my first oil change, 5,500 miles. The car runs like crap now, I should have waited longer..........J/K!

I switched on my last oil change ... around 13.5K ... but a couple of other guys in this area switched around 6k and haven't commented about any issues.
