Does anyone use earplugs on Long Trips with the Top down?

Yeah, but with the top up instead of down. It actually makes the radio sound clearer. Just like with construction equipment, long exposures to high noise levels can damage your hearing.

with the top down and with a windscreen, I don't think there is a need for earplugs. Before I had the windscreen though, my ears would be pretty shot from all the wind noise and turbulence.

Preserve hearing! I wear earplugs whenever the top is down. Even with jet travel, I will wear earplugs.

It's amazing how one thread is saying the engine is too quiet and another thread saying it's too loud and needs the aid of earplugs. Totally opposite opinions.

Gimme a break. No big DBs in this car. I wear earplugs when I hit the flight line though. Now, an F-18 or F-16 on the ramp, that is noise!
