Default easier to oversteer making right turns

Since day one, its felt like the rear of the car comes out easier on right turns than it does on left turns. As a matter of fact, its hard to bring the tail out on left turns, but on right turns the tail gets happy easily.

I am wondering if something is wrong with my differential, becase I know with our differential, the outer wheel rotates more than the inner wheel. I'm guessing this diff is not working properly and my outer wheel isn't rotating like it should on left turns.

Anybody else notice this? how can I test my diff...the manual says to spin the wheel and see if the other wheel rotates in the opposite direction, but would this test the problem that I am having?

Thanks.

i don't know about all that, but i have lost the rear on a left turn before. i almost curbed my car, but i escaped.

just my guess, but maybe since you sit on the left side, that takes (in my case 130 lbs) more on the left so when you take left turns and the weight of you car wants to lift but you are like an anchor for the left side wheels.

i don't know if that made sense.

someone else try it.

Don't know... I've spun out gonig on both left and right turns.

I have noticed the my right rear tire ALWAYS wears faster than the left rear tire. And thats after like 5 sets of rear tires.

Have you checked your wheel alignment recently?

Only got loose once while intentionally pushing it hard on a turn and it was to the right. Hmm. Have to try to the left next time. Car only 2 months old.

I'm guessing you already looked for spring spacers... Right? ;p

This is exactly how my car handled for the first 3 years of it's life until I got a hold of it. I checked for spring spacers and found one on the side that would easily oversteer. Crazy hunh?

Check for spring spacers. If you don't know what they are do a search. It's been well covered here.

I bet that's your problem. Good luck.

This may or may not be the answer but I did an advanced driver course with a company of traffic cops here in the UK. Had to practice on airfield doing high speed turns but deliberately braking before the corner before hammering the accelerator to try and upset the balance of the car. In my RHD drive car I could do the right hand turns and still hold the car but on my first left hander completely lost it and the cop sitting in the passenger sear got covered in little rubber bits of the tyres as we spun it out. One of the lessons of that session was that because of the driver's position here in the UK, the driver in a right hand turn can look down into the turn whilst a left hand turn has us looking over the bonnet and makes it more difficult to judge your speed and handling in the corner (taking into consideration that normally driving experience doesn't see you doing such speeds and turns ). In your case I guess this would reverse for a LHD and your right turns would be more difficult, so it may have nothing to do with mechanics.

I like to go on the back roads for a drift run every now and again and you are so right, I noticed it was much easier to break the back end loose on right turns
