After 2.5 months and 4500 miles, I'm gona change the oil tomorrow (and put on my Neuspeed rear lower brace).

A couple of questions:
1) 5.5 quarts or so, right? not the 5.1 indicated in the manual.

2) How much torque on the drain bolt?

3) not exactly oil-change related but what shop manual do you guys suggest?

Thanks

Correct

I just make mine "snug", but it's 39 N*m = 4.0 kgf*m = 29 lbf*ft according to the Helm Manual. Don't forget the new AL washer.

Helm Manual

Thanks

I have 3700k miles on my car, and I took it into the dealer for the first oil change today. The dealer then told me that I didn't need an oil change until 7500. Furthermore he said that doing so before 7500 would be bad because honda put some sort of special oil in for the break-in period. I've heard of this special break-in oil before.. but I've also always heard that this oil doesn't really exist.
Anyone have any firsthand knowledge of this?

This is something American Honda has disseminated but it is not documented anywhere. There is a rumor that Honda used a molybdenum additive in the factory fill for break-in but that has not been confirmed.

The opinion on the board is somewhat fragmented, some staying with the dealer recommendation, some staying with the manual with changes as soon as 3750 under some conditions, and some using an accelerated change with the first as soon as 1000.

I believe you are pretty safe staying with the manual so a severe duty change at 3750 is appropriate, and some here changed at six months with many fewer miles. I change mine at 3K intervals or sooner depending upon use.

My Acura 3.2 TL manual specifically mentioned the break-in oil complete with directions to wait until 7,500 miles for the first oil change. I called several Acura dealers and they all confirmed this. After that time period elapsed, I ran synthetic and changed the oil every 3 months or 3k miles with no engine problems on severe D.C. area driving.
