Default Easy Power?

Just wondering if anyone had suggestions outside of FI for some moderate power gains for the S2K. More than easy I suppose I am looking for something cheaper than a supercharger or turbo. I realize it can be difficult with this car but any suggestions will be appreciated, thanks. Just wanted to point out also that my S2K is MY 01, almost forgot to mention that so I realize a reflash is out of the question.

I currently have a comptech intake (not sure how effective it is), I've heard to avoid most headers, and I still have a stock exhaust but with test pipe.

I'd really recommend the AEM EMS if you can: 1) afford it; 2) have a tuner in the area and; 3) don't have to worry about emissions inspections (since you have a tp, I guess you don't). I was really surprised how much of a difference that made compared to my VAFC. Plus, once you have it, you are ready for any other major mods you might want to make.

I would definitely buy the EMS before I would think about spending nearly the same money on a really decent header, like the J's.

Comptech intake is decent. I've seen before and after of a Comptech vs AEM v2 on a dyno. Both made the same peak hp, but the comptech made 5whp more down low and mid-range.

To get any N/A gains:

Header: ~$1000
Single Exhaust: ~$1000
Intake w/ snorkel: ~$1000
VFAC and Tune: I don't even know.

So we are talking $3000 + just to get up to 225-230rwhp.

Gears will help, 4.56/7 or 4.77s will move the power down lower.

$3000 ... you are getting into SC territory, where you can just bolt on a system for life and easily make more power than you will ever get N/A.

I don't even wanna talk about stroker kits ...

why the hell are you paying $1000 for an intake? besides those jdm ones that will probably produce 2 or 3 more hp than any other cheap intake. IMO the best intake is the stock one, or the k&n fipk which is only about 220 on ebay and will get you around 4whp.

And your biggest n/a power gainer will be a 70mm single exhaust, a good header to go with that, and a good dyno tune. But even with all that its really hard to get past 220whp.

People always say gears are the best bang for the buck. Thinking about getting some myself.

Just a quick question, an AP2 with 4.56 gears. I know it's a noticeable difference in acceleration, but if you were to list a HP equivalent. How much HP/Torque would equal to getting 4.56 gears?
