no "easy" way to get more power.

gears dont give your more power per se, but will make you accelerate faster. a lightweight flywheel/clutch combo should make the car feel a lot more responsive as well.

They don't give you more peak power, but they improve the area under the curve to have less low rpm / low speed dead zone time.

There's a vid of stock vs geared S2000 from a dig.

Also that Best Motoring vid where the AP1 vs AP2 vs the red "lightly modded" vehicle... the red car has gears and you can tell the difference in acceleration.

and theres also a vid of a 4.44 geared car vs a car with intake and exhaust, and the non geared car pulls about 1-2 car lengths on him. it was a pretty old video so i cant find it but i remember it being somewhere on here.

What's the relevance of this? Are you saying that gears will make your car slower?

It's not about perception, different gears adjust the range in which the power is usable, period. If you want to talk about whether they'll make you faster on the drag strip, well, pull up one of the million old threads in which we talked about 4.77s on the strip vs stock gearing.

I loves my 4.77s. I'd love to pick up a supercharger at some point but the engine will probably need a refresher by then.

4.77s and nitrous are your best options. Don't mess with the bolt on stuff - it really doesn't do much.

Just a thought though, I had 4.77 gears, cai, j's header, T1R 70mm single exhaust, vafc2, and -210 pounds removed from the car...

...it was still really slow.

If you really want the power to compete with other cars on the road - get a 50shot wet nitrous kit and the 4.77s for daily driving fun.

I would love to just bring my car to Inline Pro and get it done but I just don't have the money for it right now, as for nitrous I have never heard of any possitive feedback for a virtually stock car, alot of wear on the engine...
