ECU Reset gave me .4 second increase in performance and fixed AC
That was indeed the case. It actually did stall once at a light. Usually took about 5-6 miles of driving to begin behaving normally. Of course, its possible that the fact I have modifications (Mugen header/JR filter) played a role.

UL do you think it is worth while to reset the ECU? Mine nearly stalls sometimes.....I took off the MAP sensor, tapped it and that seems to help for a while....I may just need a new map sensor.

is this one of those "let me see how many people I can get to mess with their car" posts???
I reset my ECU when changing TB's and didn't notice much of a change...i unhooked the battery and didn't hear any of the "learning" sounds other people have heard when starting the car up again....maybe mine is broken....kidding...

OK I want to back the initiator of this thread up. I reset my ECU two days ago and I DEFINITELY notice an increase in power. There seems to be more torque up high and I am chirping 2-3rd which I never did before.
Don't ask me how this happened but it did. I have not timed or dyno'd so I dont have any objective evidence but there certainly is a change.
Does anybody have any plausible explanation??

Again, it has to do with timing retard. One of the ECU's primary responsbilities is to avoid detonation. There is a factory default timing setting. In the summer, your ECU will have "learned" to retard timing more. In the winter, it will "learn" to advance the timing more. Of course the engineers who programmed it want to play it on the safe side, less detonation = more life = more timing retard = less power.
So in the summer, you will notice power gains from an ECU reset because the factory default timing setting is more advanced than what your ecu has "learned". In the winter, you may not notice anything.
