Put the fuse back the right way, not upside down otherwise it will not work.
Ok, I was the one who wrote the sequence for ECU reset while back. Some one edited it and made it bit more eloquent.
Yes it shouldn't matter which side the fuse goes in, and I may have jumped the gun and put that in there. The reason being is that, when the fuse was put back upside down, the reset of the ECU didn't work! But I am sure it is just an isolated incident.

But this also tells you that unless you have the idiot lights on to clear you may not know if the ECU reset is indeed done.
First thing you will notice when the ECU is first reset, you will observe bit of rough idling and when the rev start to come down it may come down to the stall point. If everything seems normal, your attempt of resetting may have failed.

Does resetting the ECU really not throw up any error codes?

After the ECU reset the "Check Engine" light should come on.

I have reset my ECU by removing the positive side connection from the battery (didn't know which fuse to pull and was too lazy to find out - although it would have saved the trouble of resetting the radio and all my channels ).

Anyway, I never had the check engine light come on; does this mean it didn't reset?

I think it's because when you put anything that alters
the air/fuel mixture ( intake, etc...) the ecu readjusts
itself back to its factory spec. resetting the ecu comes
in handy this way

I Think!

Pull the damn ecu connector under the hood where the air-intake connects to the engine (Grey connector)...leave off for like 15 sec... forget pulling the battery.
