Once again, much Mahalo. MiniF1 I'll check into the instructional DVD. Your Pic's of install would help also. I would like to see them.

mice,

Here are some of the pics I could dig up. Enjoy!

Here is Wael and his helper getting the bar in place.

My car apart waiting for the bar.

Some of the parts removed.

The finished product.

Awesome! Pic's.
How long did it take you to do the install?
I'm trying to make contact with anyone from the Go Fast Lab for an instructional CD or DVD and double check with them if the bar is still available on back order. The site is currently posting "Out of Stock"
Aloha,
Mike

I was at Elda's shop for about 10 hours for the install, and that includes a break for lunch. But Wael has installed many of these bars, so I would expect it would take a bit longer for someone doing this for the first time. I hope it works out for you. Let me know if I can be of further help.

nice pics i should take some of how you have to cut the roll hoops and back plastic but i don't have my camera right now. it looks to me and tell me if i'm wrong MINI but when i was talking with the previous owner of my car he said most of the time was spent on taking the car apart and back together. the actual install wasn't too bad.

hope you get this amazing roll bar mice!!! good luck!!!

Yes it's true that a lot of the time spent on the install was spent removing and putting back various parts of the car, including making the cuts into the wheel well. Also, trimming the plastic over the stock roll hoops does take some time if you want it to look right. Wael did a great job with this and really took his time. I'll have to take some close up pics of that area to show it a little better. Putting in the bar itself and bolting it in requires a little finesse but it's not too bad.

What type of tool did Wael use to trim the plastic parts? Was the refitting of the plastic hoop covers and backing a cut a little test fit, cut a little more, test fit again type of deal? Or was there a template for the rough cut and just some fine adjustment cuts?

I would like to see close up pic's of the fenderwell hole and patch. As well of the trimming of the plastic parts.

By "Finesse" do you mean a lot of careful fitting before drilling holes? Or the roll bar fits very tightly, so extreme care is used to maneuver the roll bar in place without scratching the interior paint?

MiniF1 & CrazyCracker82,

Tried to order the Elda Roll bar. Today I was informed that the March shipment of Elda roll bars has not been made by the manufacturer to Go Fast Labs. Go Fast Labs is currently working to rectify the problem.

No new orders are being taken. Go Fast Labs will post the ordering status for the roll bars sometime soon.

Can someone justify the extra $450 spent for this bar as opposed to the cusco roll cage?
and how much of a handling difference will there be with a added roll cage in a s2k?
