Default Elda Roll Bar

I searched this forum to see if there was any feed back from owners of the Elda Roll bar but I did not find any. Where there any problems with install? Quality of the product? Welds? How do you like it? Thank you in advance.

I have the last of the old version 1 bar, and I love it. I had Wael do the install at his shop. It took about 10 hours or so for him and his helper to do the job. It was a little scary to see my brand new car in pieces, but they did an excellent job with the install, and I have had no problems with it at all since last August when it was put in.

I think it looks great, and so do all the other S2K folks who have seen it. And best of all it keeps me legal for the track, so you can't lose. I think it's a high quality piece and certainly worth the money they ask for it.

MiniF1,
Thank you for your recommendation. I didn't know there was a first version, do you know what is the difference is? I know you had someone else put it in but was there instructions on the install included with the roll bar?
Aloha,
Mike

Although there was nothing wrong with version 1, they made a version 2 that is better in many ways.

That was your car at the Evolution meet that I was drooling over! That piece really does look good in person.

I'm still waiting for mine to come in. Asides from its functionality, I think the bar looks awesome!

thanks dude i appreciate it. Hope to see you around mid-a. the bar gets me everytime i look at it when the top is down.

mice: you'll love it when you get it. cut away as little plastic as possible behind the pass. seat and when you install the cross bar put the bottom in first. put the bolt in but don't tighten it. then put the top bolt in, it will take a little finesse, and then tighten both up. it's a very very tight fitting, solid setup

Highrpmek, CrazyCracker82,
Much Mahalo (Many Thank You's) for responding. I checked out the http://wwws2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic+269807 site. There was a discussion of a need to cut out a section under the rear fenderwell to install the backing plate with attached nuts for each forward leg. Know anything more about this?
Did you do your own install?
How long did your install take?

Sorry guys for all the questions. But I want to be sure what I'm getting into because the shipping cost to Hawaii will be a sky high cost for me.

BTW CrazyCracker82, your car looks boss.

Aloha,
Mike

Mice,

You should get an instructional DVD to help you with the install. You do have to take the rear wheels off, and make a small cut in the front part of the rear fender well in order to place the backing plate in the proper spot. After the plate was in a small piece of Dynamat was placed over the opening and painted black to conceal the cut. If you didn't know it was there you would never see it.

I have some pics of the install process, but they are on my home PC, if you want I can try to post them tomorrrow for you.

i actually didn't put the bar in. the guy i bought my s from put it in. he said it took him 20-25 hours to put it in. mainly for the tight spaces and taking it apart, as well as the the back plates.

if you are willing to pay the shipping to hawaii, i would do it b/c as long as you can put up with a little bit of an install, your going to have one kick ass roll bar. you think the s2000 is sturdy and solid know? just you wait! if you have any other questions feel free to ask.
