I wonder if Honda is considering using the electric-hybrid technology on the s2000. With the addition of an electric motor, it will solve the low-end torque problem while still maintaining high-end performance and LEV certification. Nothing, supercharger or turbo, can beat an electric motor to give instantaneous low-end torque. Heck with the electric-hybrid system maybe the fuel economy will improve.

Rumors abound about the NSX replacement with a V-6 coupled with electric motors driving the front wheels, giving it a combined horsepower rating of 400HP. Perhaps use the s2000 as a platform to introduce the new technology and tweak it for the NSX.

Now the trick is to fit the whole system into a very tight engine compartment and a small chassis....
